3+1 eğitim modelinin turizm öğrencilerinin mesleki gelişimlerine etkisi: Sakarya Uygulamalı Bilimler Üniversitesi örneği

Abstract

Turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilerin mesleki gelişimlerini etkileyen birçok unsurun varlığı bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Sakarya Uygulamalı Bilimler Üniversitesi'ndeki turizm eğitimi programlarında eğitim gören önlisans öğrencilerin 3+1 işyeri eğitimi ve uygulaması modelini değerlendirmeleri ele alınmıştır. Araştırma beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, genel olarak eğitime ait temel kavramlar, turizm eğitimi ve dünyada turizm eğitimi konusunda genel bilgiler verilmektedir. İkinci bölümde ise, önlisans düzeyinde mesleki turizm eğitimi ve 3+1 işyeri eğitimi uygulaması modeli hakkında bilgi verilmektedir. Üçüncü bölüm ise Sakarya Uygulamalı Bilimler Üniversitesi önlisans düzeyinde turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilere yönelik yapılan araştırmaya ayrılmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara ve son bölümde bulgulardan elde edilen sonuçlara ve birtakım önerilere yer verilmiştir. Betimsel tarama yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiş niceliksel bir araştırma olan bu çalışmada veriler, ölçek uygulama ve kaynak tarama ile toplanmıştır. Veriler toplandıktan sonra tablolar oluşturulmuş, oluşturulan tablolara yüzde ve frekans analizleri yapılarak sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında önceden kurulmuş olan hipotezler, varyans analizi ve t-testine tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmanın amacı önlisans düzeyinde turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilerin 3+1 işyeri eğitim uygulamasına olan memnuniyet düzeylerini ölçme ve söz konusu eğitim modelinin öğrencilerin mesleki gelişimlerine etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Anket uygulaması yapılan öğrencilere beşli likert formunda araştırma ifadelerini ölçen sorular sorulmuştur. Anket formunda; öğrencilerin demografik özellikleri ile bölümlerini isteyerek seçip seçmeme durumları, öğrencilerin okullarında uygulama otelinin bulunma durumu ile en son çalışılan işletme türü ve departmanı gibi bağımsız değişkenler ele alınmıştır. Bağımlı değişken olarak öğrencilerin söz konusu eğitimden duydukları memnuniyetleri, 3+1 işyeri eğitiminin öğrencilerin mesleki gelişimlerine etkisi ve yabancı dil eğitimi ile uygulama eğitimi arasındaki ilişkiyi içeren ifadeleri ölçülmüştür. Araştırma sonuçlarına öğrencilerin 3+1 işyeri eğitiminden memnuniyet duydukları ve modelin öğrencilerin mesleki gelişimine olumlu düzeyde katkı sağladığı söylenebilir. Bununla birlikte oluşturulan hipotezlerden dördü kabul görmeyip ikinci hipotez kabul edilmiştir. Ayrıca elde edilen değerlendirme ve bulgular hakkında çalışmaya özgü çözüm önerileri ortaya konulmuştur.

It is known that there are many elements affecting the professional development of the students who have studied at tourism vocational school. In this study, the evaluation of 3+1 workplace training model of associate degree students who are studying in tourism education programs at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences are discussed. The research consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, general information about the basic concepts of education, tourism education and tourism education in the world are given. In the second part, information is given on vocational tourism education and 3+1 workplace training model at associate level. Third part; the study includes research conducted for students studying at the tourism vocational school at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. In the fourth chapter, the findings obtained from the research. In the last section, some suggestions are given. In this study, which is a quantitative research carried out by descriptive screening method, the data were collected by scale application and resource screening. After the data were collected, tables were formed, percentage and frequency analyzes were done to the tables and the results were evaluated. Within the scope of the study, pre-established hypotheses were subjected to variance analysis and t-test. The aim of the study is to measure the satisfaction levels of the students studying tourism at the vocational school to the 3+1 workplace training and to determine the effect level of the education model on the professional development of the students. The students who were surveyed were asked questions which measured the research expressions in five-likert form. In the questionnaire; students' demographic features and sections of the students to choose whether they want, students' schools in the presence of the application of the hotel and the most recently studied business type and department are discussed as independent variables. As the dependent variable, the students' satisfaction with the mentioned education, the effect of 3+1 workplace training on the professional development of students and the relationship between foreign language education and practice education were measured. According to the results of the study, it can be said that the students who received workplace training are satisfied with the application of 3+1 workplace training, and the model contributes positively to the professional development of the students. In addition, four hypotheses were not accepted and the second hypothesis was accepted. Lastly, specific suggestions for the study were presented.
