In Turkey, as a result of the stroke, annually 40,000 people died and approximately 200,000 patients left impaired by stroke. Stroke patients are generally depend on their carer. It is possible to recover upper extremity functions with intensive treatment. The technologies that will make the patient selfsufficient are still developing. However, due to their high cost and limited accessibility for intensive treatment, not all patients have access to these technologies. Therefore, the development of these exercise devices which are suitable for the home environment is being continued. The aim of this study was to design a low-cost home-based functional electrical stimulation rehabilitation device that would allow patients to take care of themselves again. It is expected that the care and support costs for stroke patients will be decreased. In this study, the system is designed to be compact with microcontroller, electrodes, sensor, electrical elements and circuits to be suitable for home-based use. © 2019 IEEE.en_US
